The YF-16 prototype took to the air for the first time on 20th January 1974. Since that date over 4000 copies of this most famous and prolific combat aircraft of today were produced, serving in over twenty countries around the world. YF-16 won the LWF (lightweight fighter) competition for the USAF, whose requirements were based on the experience from Korea and Vietnam. Its design was truly revolutionary and is one of the first relaxed stability aeroplanes, depending completely on a computer and fly-by-wire for pitch controllability. Also its aerodynamics, relying on vortex lift, and special materials and electronics represented a true breaktrough at the time of its inception. Its gradual development brought the F-16 from pure day interceptor into a multipurpose day/night combat aircraft, produced in many versions and carrying a plethora of radars, missiles, bombs, recce pods and other specialised stores. The timelessness of the design is proved by the fact that the fighter’s general outline has not changed much during its development, while the difference of performance and scope of tasks between the YF-16 and the current versions is stunning.

The decal set in the kit catalogue number 0105 covers markings for six F-16s in combat camouflage. The decal set in the kit catalogue no. 0106 enables to build the model in the attractive livery applied for the 90th anniversary of the 111th Fighter Squadron.

The F-16C model you have bought is noteworthy for several features:

• It is almost ready to fly. After finishing its assembly you only need to apply decals, install the ducted fan and your RC equipment.
• The model is made of polystyrene foam with tougher external layer, less prone to surface damage. In addition to that plastic sheathing protects the exposed places. Thanks to the ratio of the in-flight weight and building material’s strength the model is rather sturdy and the risk of its damage in normal operation is minimal.
• During the design of the model a maximum attention was devoted to the aerodynamic layout ensuring high aerodynamic lift/drag ratio, and providing thusly for a surprising range of speeds as well as for pleasant flight behaviour, typical of much larger models.

Byggesættet indeholder:
Krop, vinge og rorflader af depron. Vingen er formstøbt og hul. Alle spanter er limet i kropen og samtlige rorflader er hængslet. Byggearbejdet begrænser sig således til pålimning af vinge, montering af haleplan, montering af motor, impeller enhed, rorforbindelser og servoer.

Modellen leveres u/motor med Impeller for Mega AC16/7/4.

Modellen leveres malet, og der medfølger fittings, dekorationsark og en meget udførlig bygge- og monteringsvejledning på engelsk med illustrationer.
